Working through these extraordinary circumstances is unsurprisingly difficult. The days seem longer, the demands seem larger, and the effort to work itself seems to be dwindling. Often I find it hard to know when free time outside of work is, given the setup of a hybrid work environment between in person and virtually. However, an equally extraordinary event that has come about from this is the enhancement of shared camaraderie with everyone in the lab. I feel heard, understood, and supported as I go about my daily tasks. It’s hard for me to know if this happy occurrence would have happened without the forced hardship we’ve all endured, but I’m grateful I have the ability to recognize and enjoy it now.
